On-board crane testing at Marina di Carrara (2014)

Marina di Carrara, 2014

In 2014, at the port of Marina di Carrara, an essential load test was conducted on the onboard cranes of a specialized cargo vessel. This type of operation is crucial for verifying the efficiency, safety, and reliability of lifting equipment before undertaking complex loading procedures.

As the maritime agency, Labrolines Srl managed and coordinated the entire logistical operation, ensuring that the test was carried out in compliance with the highest safety standards and international regulations. The procedure involved the use of certified weights and monitoring crane performance under different operational conditions, simulating real-world loading and unloading scenarios.

Embarking NEW PIGNON MODULES for ABU DHABI (2016)

Marina di Carrara, August 2016

Labrolines Srl has handled all port and logistics operations with the utmost professionalism regarding the movement of modules intended for power generation for the ZADCO project. This is a highly optimized configuration of machinery and auxiliary components, custom-designed to meet the specific needs of the client.

Following the transfer of the final module, the vessel will depart from the port of Marina di Carrara, bound for Abu Dhabi. The journey, lasting approximately 40 days, will follow the route through the Suez Canal and the Red Sea. The shipment of the last two assembled modules will be completed by early 2017.

All modules will be installed on an artificial island located 80 km off the coast of Abu Dhabi, within the Upper Zakum oil field, managed by ZADCO, a subsidiary of the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC), with the participation of ExxonMobil and Japan Oil Development Company. This oil field, covering an area of 1,200 km², is the second-largest in the Arabian Gulf and the fourth-largest in the world.

Each module measures 44 meters in length, 24 meters in height, and 20 meters in width, with a weight of approximately 1,700 tons, and houses a 43 MW gas turbine.

Labrolines Srl, as the maritime agency, has efficiently and precisely managed all port procedures, ensuring the seamless coordination of loading and shipping operations to transport the modules to their final destination.

For a project of this scale, every stakeholder must work together with flawless synergy and precision.
An exceptional project requires only the expertise of exceptional professionals.

Helicopter Landing from SY Yacht (2024)

September 2024

An operation to be proud of, but above all, a confirmation that not everyone can do what Labrolines Srl excels at.

Unloading, storing, and reloading onto a truck might seem like a simple procedure—if it weren’t for the fact that it involved a 5-ton helicopter, with a capacity of eight passengers, two pilots, and one steward.

The unloading from a moored yacht required not only the right equipment but also experience, expertise, and meticulous planning. Several ports and agencies were consulted, but only through the expertise of Labrolines Srl, in collaboration with the F2i Holding Terminal in Marina di Carrara, was it possible to successfully complete this delicate operation.

The main challenges were the value and complexity of the aircraft, its size—with a width exceeding 4 meters, not including the five rotor blades—and the handling of its fuel.

To enable road transport, a specialized company was brought in to dismantle the rotor blades and store them in custom-designed crates. Only after this step was it possible to lift, position the helicopter onto a trailer, and transport it to its final destination: the heli-hangar.

None of this would have been possible without the expertise of the Labrolines team, which has successfully managed similar operations in the past, such as the shipment of helicopters to Alaska in 1999.

We make simple what is impossible for most.
